i'm back!

oh hey there! sorry i've been MIA for ...2 months? i kind of dropped off the planet for a while, but i had a pretty good excuse...

i've been growing a baby. whoop!

anyone who knows me knows that my pregnancies take every ounce of energy i can muster. and trust me, you didn't want to hear what i had to say the last couple of months. some women glow and have "happy hormones" etc, but i'm just sick and miserable and instead of a "glow" it's more like a perma-scowl.

Ruby has learned that "mommy's sick" pretty much all the time, and she's started doing the funniest things to cheer me up. if i ever tell her "hold on, mommy's feeling sick (it happens more than i'd like to admit)" she will take her little finger and push it between my eyebrows to try and un-furrow them. it always makes me laugh and then she giggles and says "mommy's happy now?" i mean, this kid is kind of the greatest.

i'm in to my second trimester now and my energy is slowly seeping back in, so hooray for that! and also can we just all send up a thankful prayer for anti nausea medication? thank you thank you thank you! modern medicine really is great, you know.

anyway Roo made a little movie the other day and we wanted to share it with you.

two things:
1. my finger is in the whole first part of the video. it's pretty bad, i know. face-palm.
2. interviewing a wiggly 2 year-old is rough. they don't stay still. this was actually very successful for us.



p.s. we haven't decided on a name yet, but i can confidently say we are not naming this baby Patty.
