-catching Ruby trying to jam an earring into an outlet. i guess i should think of this as a good thing, since she's still alive...
-seeing my poor sister in pain in the hospital. she did really well and came through surgery like a champ, but holy cow does it hurt when she's in pain! my heart just aches. good thing she did so well or i don't think i could've taken it
-the terrible terrible twos. the babe isn't two yet, but they've been here for a while. she's very advanced for her age, you know
-that time i forgot about dinner in the crock pot and left it cooking for an extra 5 hours. not my best work
ups:
-meeting our new baby niece, Pearl. she is the most adorable thing and i can't stop kissing her sweet little nose!
-Ruby learning how to count to ten. who's smart kid is this anyway?
-my amazing husband who's been solo parenting while i play nurse. have i mentioned he's the best? he is
-Ruby's dance teacher. the woman is a saint! and holy cow, is she bendy!
-watching Ruby hold "Purr-baby" for the first time. she was so sure of herself and wasn't shy about it at all!
-the way Roo's been stringing together longer and longer sentences. this girl can talk! and i love it!
-great nurses who seem to truly care about how you're feeling and want to make it better. there were so many nurses in the hospital over the last few days who were so good to my sister. it made it so much easier to leave at night knowing everyone would be taken care of.
-Roo saying "i la la (love you) mommy!" out of the blue! on her own! just because she felt like it! oh i just about died. it's been happening every day since. she is seriously the sweetest and it's getting sweeter every day
