One of my favorite bloggers features posts each week which she titles "Awkward and Awesome Thursdays". In these posts she talks about the awesome as well as the awkward things she's experienced throughout the week. I've actually seen a lot of bloggers pick it up. It's a ton of fun to read and I've been wanting to start my own. I don't know how often I'll be doing these but I think it'll be fun! So here we go!
A few of the awkward and awesome moments from this week:
Awkward:
-The missionaries coming over while Ruby is in the middle if an epic toot-fest
"so, {toot} how {toot} are {toot} you {toooooooooot} guys {toot-toot-toot} doing?"
-Eating ramen and coke for lunch 3 days in a row.
-Having to say no to the local high school girls soccer team fundraiser. They were selling coffee and "gourmet" hot chocolate. It was $20 per bag.
"Um... We don't drink coffee... And we prefer our hot chocolate a little less (ahem) 'gourmet'."
-Changing a poopy diaper in our friends' apartment and having Ruby do "the crocodile roll" as soon as the diaper came off. I had to call Tyler in for reinforcement and still got poop on my hand. Did I mention these friends don't have children?
Awesome:
-Second-hand baby gear from families in our ward. I don't care who you are, free is best.
-Ruby doing "the chameleon rock" (animal theme week)
-Tyler suddenly getting the urge to clean. Don't ask questions, just stay out of his way. (Dishes-done, laundry-folded and put away, floors-vacuumed, bathrooms-scrubbed, bed-made, closet-organiiiiiized!)
-Ruby in skinny jeans. Cutest thing of all time.
-Peanut butter cups on sale.
-Realizing that Ruby has 5 little boyfriends at church who are obsessed with her. FIVE! It's cute now, but Tyler and I already decided her appropriate dating age will be 37 and 1/2 (I said 35, he says 40. Compromise).
-Discovering dry shampoo. Science!
