ups and downs

downs:
-Agreeing to say the opening prayer AND help teach sunday school, then having to skip church to take care of a sick baby. That one should actually fall under "awful"
-Ruby learning to pull my shirt down in front of all sorts of different people.
"Hi. Is this on sale?...what's that? I am unknowingly exposing myself to you and the rest of the store? Ok I'm just going to...go then..." (reposition clothes, speed walk out the door)
-Sitting down next to a nice-enough-looking lady on a bench at the mall. She was talking on the phone.
"yes... I said 'baby'... yeah, a lady with a baby just sat down next to me... i can't tell. She has the baby covered up (gives me an expectant smile)... i guess the baby is probably sleeping... she probably doesn't want to uncover the baby to show me (another smile)..." (smile back, promptly call Tyler and pretend there's somewhere I need to go) For the record, I had been waiting for the midge to fall asleep for 3 hours and there was no way I was going to uncover her so this lady could take a peek...I'm not sure if anyone was even on the other line.

ups:
-Discovering a Trader Joe's not too far from us. Am I obsessed? Nooo... Yeah probably. Lets just go over a few of my purchases: creamed honey, chocolate covered potato chiiiiiips (you have to sing that in your best opera voice), and these awesome things:
They have these little individually portioned herbs. They're measured and frozen in convenient amounts so you just pop out a cube or two and throw them in the pan. I am seriously excited about this one! People are smart.

-This little development:

-Spending a week with my favorite sister/ family photographer
-Booking our flights home for Christmas! I am getting so pumped! Am I listening to Christmas music right now? why, yes. yes I am.

This week really has been almost all awesome. I'm one happy camper.
