this week

downs:

-having my car dinged in a parking lot 

-Ruby's crazy new climbing skills. every time i turn around she's on top of the table, kitchen counter, dressers, everything! it's terrifying
-Tyler working his brains out. he's been working 3 jobs, up at 4:00, working late, 7 days a week. we miss him and i think he misses sleep.

-that time Ruby chucked my phone in the toilet. yes, it's busted.
-the way Roo can't fall asleep without holding mommy's hand now. don't get me wrong, it's heart-warming to have her reach for my hand every night (and at nap time), but my arm always falls asleep after about 3 minutes and it takes way longer than that for her to let go.

ups:

-getting a new phone! bonus: with a camera that doesn't specialize in blur! wahoo!

-Ruby's halloween costume finally starting to come together. 

-when Ruby asks for a "heck" (hug). i never thought this day would come! it's usually when she's trying to get out of a nap, but i'll take it
-carving pumpkins
-drinking hot chocolate until we're sick
-having a saturday where Tyler only worked 9 hours. it was like he was on vacation!
-craft day with the sister. spending half an hour wandering around looking for the perfect shiny gold faux leather (i live for these things). having someone other than me cursing at my sewing machine (the thing really is a menace)
-the way Ruby wakes me up by turning my face toward hers and saying "no sleep, mommy." adorable.
