we went to our friends' christmas party yesterday and guess who showed up! SANTAAAA! we're calling this one "awesome santa" (not to be confused with creepy santa). he was so nice. he sat and talked to all the kids and sang songs with them. Ruby was very reserved about him as usual, but she was slowly warming up as time went on. it was so funny because all of the kids were sitting in a group in front of him and Roo was slowly scooting closer and closer to him as he talked. eventually she ended up sitting right at his feet. she was so curious.
then came the time for Roo to sit on santa's lap and get her present. let's just say Ruby prefers santa at a distance.
i'm not sure how Tyler ended up being the one to sit on santa's lap, but it was pretty funny.
Ruby still had her reservations, but i'd say this was a much better experience than last time. she's been talking about Santa ever since.
p.s. like Tyler's ugly sweater? he brought home a prize for that one. and he deserved it! if you look closely, you can see that he wove lights through it and rigged them to a battery so it would glow. i was a little scared it was going to set his sweater on fire, but he got through the night unscathed.
