a birthday tradition

Roo's birthday party wasn't until the day after her birthday, so her actual birthday was pretty low key. we had #2 pancakes for breakfast and let Ruby blow out candles on her "pancake cake". she absolutely loved that, as you could imagine. she's been talking about "happy birthday candles" nonstop for over a month

the rest of the day was spent cuddling, going on walks, reading, watching mickey mouse, and doing party prep. we had cafe rio for dinner which made her day complete ("QUESADILLA AND RIIIICE!"), and then it was off to bed for her to dream about her "happy birthday party", "happy birthday presents" and "happy birthday candles" (of course)

so, pancakes for breakfast and mexican food for dinner seems to be our little birthday tradition over here. i can definitely live with that
