backyard playing. this doesn't happen as often these days because it's been so deathly hot.

Ruby floating in the tube with her buddy, Lily. for the record, we obviously didn't pull them behind the boat. we were all singing "if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands" when i took this picture. + my beautiful girl

kids menu coloring (those crayons went straight in to her mouth after she was finished) + first ever happy meal. she would only eat the apples. atta girl!

dinosaur coloring + the bruises starting to fade. poor babe

feeding the ducks (and geese) with daddy. try as she might, none of them would give her a hug

*i made these huge blocks for Ruby hoping they would help her learn to differentiate colors. it took me 2 days to sand them down, paint and seal them. she played with them for about half an hour and kept dropping them on her toes (did i mention they are huge?). after a while she started avoiding them and calling them "ouchies" instead of "bocks". aaaand now they're stored in the garage. mommy fail.
