i wasn't very good about taking pictures during this trip. i think i had the camera out of the trunk for only one of the thee days, but at least i got something.
i was expecting a three day drive with a toddler to be traumatizing, but it was actually not as terrible as i thought. yes, there were meltdowns (from both me and Ruby), but we got through it and we still love each other. we owe that hugely to the fact that Tyler's amazing parents came to our aide once again. they drove all the way from canada to utah, then flew to minnesota, then helped us pack and clean our house, then drove the moving truck all the way back to utah with us, only to then drive their vehicle all the way back to canada again. how's that for love?! we are so lucky.
this was one of the only comfortable positions in the back seat. that little car of ours gets pretty cramped after 8 hours.
every time we stopped to get gas, Nana would come visit Roo and nibble on her toes. Ruby would babble away to her about the trip and Nana would listen intently until we had to go again. it was so sweet.
occasionally Nana would take little miss out so she could stretch her legs too.
Roo got along well with Papa too. whenever she felt left out of a conversation, she could count on him to pick her up. she always had the best view from way up in his arms.
i think Papa is pretty fond of our baby kangaroo too.
Ruby was great about checking the truck and trailer for us. she made sure everything was hooked up properly and secure.
i don't usually sleep very well when i'm not in my own bed, but staying in hotels had its perks. Tyler and Ruby got to go swimming in our hotel in wyoming.
this face kills me. Ruby's normally a little fish, but there were some splashy boys pestering her this time. they still had fun even though she was keeping her eye on those boys the whole time.
wifi was nice too.
Tyler drove almost the whole way and i'm so glad he did. after driving maybe 2 hours my entire right leg was totally numb. long-distance driving is serious business!

finally getting close to home.
it was a long trip, but it was nice to spend time with my little family and seeing Tyler's parents was really great.
now i could use a nap. anybody want to come unpack my boxes?
