-driving 60 mph past a construction zone on the freeway and having a worker toss a traffic barrel in to my lane, right in front of my car*. welcome back to utah, Reina!
-Ruby deciding that utah-time means going to bed at 6:30 and waking up at 3:00 am.
-watching a dog swallow a dead mouse. tmi? this image is forever burned in my mind.
-after a trip to the grocery store, i was talking on the phone, carrying Ruby in one arm, the groceries and diaper bag in the other. i walked all the way inside only to realize i was in the wrong house. i yelled, "oh crap!" and ran away like a scared little girl... not the introduction i was hoping for with our new neighbors.
-Ruby's naughty streak. biting, hitting, throwing food, bullying aunt Dawnica's dogs, ignoring demands, throwing tantrums. i especially love when she gets that look on her face like, "oh i know exactly what you want from me. i'm just going to stare you right in the eyes, with this mischievous smirk and do whatever i want anyway." i get the feeling this is just the beginning.
ups:
-getting to see old friends again.
-finally having a backyard for Roo to play in.
-the fact that Ruby is now calling herself "Dee-Dee". she'll even point to pictures of babies who look like her and say "Dee-Dee!" i have no idea where this came from, but dang is it cute!
-grilling (aka Tyler cooking half of the meals, and having fewer dishes. win win)
-finding a good bargain. a really good bargain (like a clearance sale, plus coupon) makes me feel like i'm sticking it to the man somehow. i'm not about to become one of those crazy couponers, but i certainly appreciate a good deal.
-sonic cherry limeades.
-the baby is eating!!! i'm hesitant to even write this because i'm scared i might jinx it. she is finally eating; not a lot, but there has been some serious progress. hallelujah!
Ruby with Koda (one of aunt Dawnica's puppies)
*i was driving under the speed limit, i swerved and missed the barrel, and no, the construction worker had no idea he almost killed us. these are just the kind of things you expect daily when you live in utah.
