downs:
-thunder/lightening storms. Ruby can't sleep through them, which means i can't sleep through them. i've always loved storms like these, but now it's a love/hate relationship.
-trying about a thousand new foods and having them all turned down by little miss. i may have met my match with this picky eater.
-mommy-insomnia. it's getting to be ridiculous.
-a sick baby. looks like Ruby might've inherited my immune system.
-packing up my books and using every box we had. i grossly overestimated how many boxes we had. or maybe i underestimated how many books i had...
-the storms finally passed, but then we were reminded that sick babies don't sleep. needless to say, we haven't been getting much rest around here.
-taking Roo to the doctor (a family practitioner who she doesn't normally see) and having him say, "i don't think we've met, i'm blah blah blah." when in fact, we had met. we actually held hands for a good ten minutes last time i saw him. *to clarify, i have a wrist thing and he gave me a very thorough (and awkward) exam a couple months ago. he's the type of doctor that likes to look you right in the eyes the whole time he's talking to you, so... it left an impression (on me, anyway).
ups:
-Tyler taking (and acing) his very last final. we're so proud of him.
-going to the hair salon. i don't care what's going on. an hour or so in the salon, reading trashy magazines, getting a head massage, and having someone style my hair makes life seem a hundred times easier.
-play dates with Ruby's favorite boys. i say they're for Ruby, but they're just as much for me.
-exploring with my little family. we won't always be able to spend this much time together, so i'm soaking it all in.
-tazo wild sweet orange tea. i tried it hoping it would help me sleep. i'm not normally a tea drinker, but this stuff is pretty good.
-this adorable new word:
-Roo learning to go down the slide all by herself. how did my baby get so big?
proof #1:
proof #2:
mind you, this is the tiniest slide i've ever seen... but still.
it's been a tough week, but we've had some really good times too.
