a kick for Roo

Ruby felt baby kick today. it was such a quick, but tender moment and i never want to forget it. she's never been patient enough to wait for a kick before (2 year-olds aren't exactly known for patience, after all). this time it was like the baby knew she was there and wanted to hurry and make her presence known.

the look on Ruby's face was priceless. it was a mixture of shock and excitement. she gasped and said "oh! mommy i felt it! i felt that kick! baby sister kicked my hand!" she was so pleasantly surprised.

she still doesn't completely understand the whole "new baby" thing, but i think these little moments help to make it click for her. now i just can't wait for these two to meet!
