it seems like wherever we go lately there's no escaping the brutal heat. on sunday i decided i was fed up so we went for a drive up the canyon to take a hike and have a picnic. being in the mountains dropped the temperature a good 20 degrees and after a month of 100+ weather that's downright chilly for us! when we got out of the car we all did a little happy dance ("it's only 80-something! hooray for altitude!"). then we took a look around and did another happy dance because would you just look at how beautiful these mountains are in the summer?! the sun was shining, the wildflowers were in bloom, and it was absolutely gorgeous. i think a few more trips up the canyon may be in order this summer.

DeleteOh, this is so beautiful! I'm glad you are enjoying some nice weather. I can't imagine suffering through such high temps for a month. Ruby's outfit is adorable...we have that same shirt. =) Great posts!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see you all. You seem so far away and Grandpa is not wanting to go anywhere that is hot. He has been working steadily on his old-fashioned windmill and hopefully soon it will be up on our lawn and working. I am getting excited to see it up. Hopefully by the next time you are up. He does not want to go anywhere with heat and so we haven't done trips this summer. We love you all. Grandma
